West counties extend contracts of key players

GLOUCESTERSHIRE — white-ball captain Jack Taylor has signed a two-year contract extension, committing his future to the club until the end of the 2028 season.

Taylor has spent his entire career with Gloucestershire since making his debut in 2010. Over that time, he has amassed 8,667 runs with 10 centuries, 39 half-centuries and more than 1,000 boundaries.

With the ball, he has claimed 160 wickets across all formats, a knack for breakthroughs that proved decisive in Gloucestershire’s 2015 Royal London One Day Cup Final triumph at Lord's, where his player-of-the-match display helped seal the win.

Taylor was appointed Gloucestershire’s white-ball captain in 2020 and in 2024, he led the club to its first-ever Vitality Blast title.

On his new deal, Taylor said: “I’m really pleased to extend my time with Gloucestershire. This club has been a big part of my life for a long time now. Last season's success was a special moment for all of us, and it's definitely added to the motivation to keep pushing forward.

“I still have plenty to offer, both with the bat and the ball, and in supporting the younger lads coming through. I'm looking forward to more glorious days ahead.”

Meanwhile, Somerset County Cricket Club confirmed Tom Kohler-Cadmore has signed a multi-format contract extension. The new deal will see him remain at the Cooper Associates County Ground until at least the end of the 2027 season.
