Hutchinson ‘wants to stay’ with Cheltenham

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has scored seven goals in 14 appearances since joining the Robins on a season-long loan from Bristol Rovers on September 1.

- LEADING scorer Isaac Hutchinson wants to stay at Cheltenham Town until the end of the season, according to manager Steve Cotterill, writes Jon Palmer.

Rovers appointed Steve Evans as their new head coach this week following the departure of Darrell Clarke after a run of 10 successive league defeats.

The managerial change has raised concerns that Hutchinson could be recalled in January, but Cotterill believes Cheltenham are in a strong position to retain the player.

“I know Isaac wants to stay here and he's come to see me twice to reiterate that, so I'd imagine he'll have a certain amount of say,” Cotterill said.

“It’s not necessarily our decision and if they recall him there isn’t a lot we can do about it; it’s out of my hands and we'll have to go and find somebody else. But you can only play for two clubs in one season and Isaac has already played for Bristol Rovers and us.
