City's promotion dream ends as Blades finish job

BRISTOL City’s Premier League dream came to an end as they were beaten 3-0 by Sheffield United in the second leg of their play-off semi-final - losing 6-0 to the Blades over the two legs.
The Robins came into last night's clash as massive underdogs, having suffered a 3-0 defeat in the first leg at Ashton Gate on Thursday, and goals from Kieffer Moore, Gustavo Hamer and Callum O’Hare ensured their first play-off campaign in 17 years ended in a big aggregate defeat.
Moore nodded the home side into the lead moments before half-time, before Hamer and O'Hare put the result on the night beyond doubt after the break.
Despite the disappointing result, Liam Manning and his squad were greeted like heroes as they made their way over to the travelling fans after the full-time whistle.
It was City who started in the ascendancy. With just two minutes played, Scott Twine shot just wide.
