Delays expected as roadworks in Truro continue

THE second phase of work to Truro’s Malpas Road, part of plans to change how people get around the city, has begun.

A series of schemes are planned between the Trafalgar roundabout and Boscawen Park to improve pedestrian access and safety as part of the £23.6 million Truro Town Deal project, which aims to transform travel in and around Truro.

Due to be completed by the end of this year, they include changes to the Newham Trail, Malpas and Boscawen Park and the National Cycle Network route, funding using money awarded by the government's Town Deal programme in June 2021.

Cornwall Council, which administers Town Deal funding, says the scheme is being delivered in phases in order to minimise disruption.
