Veasey makes his return at Goodwood

WELLS rider Dominic Veasey threw himself in at the deep end racing at Goodwood’s 82nd Members Meeting last month.
The meeting, televised on ITV4, is traditionally for the members only with Goodwood very much an untouched circuit going back in time to the 1950s and 60s. The pits are old corrugated sheds, advertising around the circuit is painted and it is littered with yellow daffodils fitting for a spring backdrop.
Veasey’s new P&M Factory Tri-umph has been two years in the making. It was touch and go whether he would be ready to race at Goodwood, and only ten days prior he had the phone call that it was ready to pick up.
Unable to take the bike for a test day, Veasey ventured to Goodwood and set up on the Friday very much learning on the job. Having to park his caravan and van half a mile away in the riders’ area, he had to make sure all of his tools, kit and bike were in the sheds.
