Special sites set up to get music onto streets of city

MULTIPLE busk stops have been installed across a city in a bid to encourage more people to perform on the streets.

Seven signs have been placed around Newport city centre by the council, creating places for buskers to sing in public spaces.

The music scene in Newport has been thriving, according to the council, with the festival-inspired Newport Music Trail seeing success in March for its inaugural launch.

The free event will take place again next year, running on March 27 and 28.

Seven “busk stop” signs, funded by the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund, have been dotted across the city centre creating spaces to allow people to share their talents.
