Vietnam well on way to reaching expressway goals

With a slew of expressway investments in the pipeline, Vietnam is on track to achieve its 5,000-km goal before the end of the decade.

In late May, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc assigned the Ministry of Construction to coordinate with the people’s committees of Gia Lai, Dak Lak, and Lam Dong provinces to urgently address the plan for the western North-South Expressway section connecting Pleiku, Buon Ma Thuot and Gia Nghia.

The relevant agencies must provide written responses to Duc Long Gia Lai Group and report the results to the prime minister by the end of May.

The group is seeking policy consensus on studying investment in the expressway venture. This serves as a basis to formulate the feasibility study report, thereby addressing issues related to planning, timelines, public-private partnerships, and local funding structure.
