TOD ecosystem now major growth catalyst
May 25, 2026
|Vietnam Investment Review
As land availability in central Ho Chi Minh City becomes increasingly limited and housing prices remain elevated, the trend of population shifts along metro corridors and transit-oriented ecosystems is becoming more pronounced than ever.
Infrastructure components are more likely to be established under stricter international standards
SonKim Land, a premium real estate developer based in Ho Chi Minh City, last week introduced its Thu Thiem Station Urban Complex concept, aiming to contribute a comprehensive planning solution to transform Thu Thiem into a next-generation integrated urban symbol.
Located adjacent to Thu Thiem Station, a future mega transport hub connecting the metro line 2, the Thu Thiem-Long Thanh Airport metro line, and the North-South high-speed railway, the complex is emerging as one of the most representative models of transit-oriented development (TOD) in Ho Chi Minh City.
This is the most advanced TOD 5.0 model to integrate residential, commercial, service, and infrastructure components under international TOD standards. At its centre, the Thu Thiem Station is envisioned as the heart connecting the entire development, alongside a landmark 90-storey iconic tower set to redefine Ho Chi Minh City’s future skyline.
