PLANS to transform one of the South West's most congested motorway junctions have moved a step closer, as councillors make a renewed push for funding to unlock thousands of homes and jobs.

- by LEWIS CLARKE

Mid Devon District Council has formally backed Devon County Council's latest submission for government funding to upgrade Junction 28 of the M5 - a scheme seen as vital to the future of Cullompton and the wider Culm Garden Village project.

The proposed scheme includes the creation of new south-facing slip roads and a new overbridge designed to accommodate walking, cycling and bus travel.
