Campaign to get action to fix road that is 'one big pothole'
June 10, 2025
|The Tiverton Gazette
A CAMPAIGN has been launched to get a Mid Devon road repaired after residents reported more than 100 potholes in a one-mile stretch.
They are growing desperate as they say the state of Malson Lane in Tiverton is having a severe impact on their lives and despite contacting Devon County Council nothing is being done.
Sian Brown, who runs Wilson Farm stables on the road, says many of the holes are capable of causing substantial damage to vehicles, with a risk to users and horses.
"The condition of the lane is affecting the family life and wellbeing of residents and causes a feeling of isolation as visitors are unhappy to navigate the damaged road," she added.
"Deliveries often do not reach their destination as drivers refuse to go up the lane and we are also concerned about the emergency services.
"If the fire or ambulance service wanted to get down there they wouldn’t be able to, I wouldn't want to go down there in the back of an ambulance," added Sian.
