Glasto's a sizzler as UK basks in second heatwave... and it's expected to get even hotter

- BY SASKIA ROWLANDS

Festival of sun

THE hottest act at Glastonbury yesterday was the weather as the sun beat down on festivalgoers and sent temperatures soaring across the UK.

And with Britain baking in its second heatwave in as many weeks, forecasters say we could soon top the charts for the warmest day of the year.

Glasto, in Somerset, is famed for being a bit of a mudbath. But this year, the sun has shone at the Worthy Farm festival every day.

As temperatures hit 29C, revellers took time out from partying to enjoy a cold beer on what was left of the scorched grass.

In London, Jodie Louise Goodman, of Kent, flew the flag for England by dancing in a fountain in a patriotic dress.
