England face a Club World row for Euros
May 04, 2025
|The Sunday Mirror
EXCLUSIVE BY RYAN TAYLOR
LIAM DELAP and Dean Huijsen could spark a club-versus-country row this summer - with both in line to feature at the Under-21s Euros in Slovakia, for England and Spain respectively.
But if Chelsea push ahead with early swoops for the duo, their nations would be powerless if the Blues then decided to include Delap (below) and Huijsen in their Club World Cup squad for June.
Under FIFA rules, it's not mandatory for clubs in the 32-team tournament to release their players for international duty.
