Butt's end is sorry sight

BRENDON McCULLUM is open to splitting England's white-ball captaincy - after Jos Buttler's reign ended in another dismal defeat.

Head coach McCullum did not rule out offering the job to someone currently OUTSIDE the set-up.

Buttler signed off with a thrashing at the hands of South Africa in Karachi, as England ended their miserable Champions Trophy with a third loss from three matches.

Harry Brook is the favourite to succeed him but there are concerns over his workload as an all-format regular, given England's packed schedule.
