His season's 16th strike gives United 2-1 win after Fernandes' controversial equaliser

RED-HOT RASHFORD RULES

MANCHESTER - Marcus Rashford's scoring form continued as he slid home Manchester United's winner in their 2-1 comeback Premier League victory over Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The England forward slid in Alejandro Garnacho's pass in the 83rd minute to secure a victory which helped the Red Devils rise to third in the table, just a point behind second-placed City.

Pep Guardiola's men looked to be heading for victory when Jack Grealish came off the bench to head them into the lead.

But Bruno Fernandes' controversial equaliser turned the game and four minutes later, Rashford netted for the ninth consecutive match at Old Trafford.

City could lie eight points off the top of the table, should Arsenal beat Tottenham in the north London derby on Sunday.

The victory for United was sweet revenge after a 6-3 trouncing by City in the reverse fixture in October. But Erik ten Hag's side have lost just once in 19 games since.
