R&B star Jason Derulo's next album will be his last

After amassing several hits in the last 16 years, American R&B singer Jason Derulo says his next album will be his final one.

Titled The Last Dance, the star behind club-friendly pop hits such as Whatcha Say (2009), Want To Want Me (2015) and Savage Love (2020) described the upcoming album, which he is working on, as his best work.

"It's some of the most exciting music I've ever done," the 35-yearold says in a Zoom interview from Los Angeles, where he was on his way to a taping of American television game show Wheel Of Fortune (1975 to present).

"I'm just in the prime of my life. I feel like I'm a better singer than I've ever been, a better writer than I've ever been, and I just have a lot to talk about." So, why stop with the next album?

"There are other things that I want to do, and I'd love to move into a different chapter. I'm going to spend a lot of energy on making films, as well as continuing to cultivate the businesses I have, and family."

He acted as American soul singer Ron Isley in Spinning Gold, a 2023 biopic on music executive Neil Bogart, and was a judge and coach on reality music shows like the 2023 season of The Voice (Australia) (2012 to present).
