Progress Is transformation always needed in giving help?

During a recent work trip to a developing country, I saw scenes that challenged my assumptions about well-being.

Children played barefoot in the mud, while parents toiled in the fields or set off to fish. Later, families would rest together, chatting and laughing. There was a sense of contentment that did not depend on material abundance or modern comforts.

When outsiders offer help or advocate change, do these communities truly need assistance, or are we sometimes imposing solutions shaped by our values and definitions of progress?
