Luxury brand Mett opens first Asia hotel in Singapore

Fort Canning Hotel Singapore, the neoclassical heritage building atop Fort Canning Hill, has been reimagined as Mett Singapore.
The new hotel opens on Oct 28 and is owned by Dubai-based Sunset Hospitality Group (SHG), whose portfolio includes Chinese restaurant Mott 32 and dining and nightlife venue Sushisamba Singapore.
The Mett brand of hotels currently operates in four cities: Bodrum in Turkey; Marbella and Barcelona in Spain; and Milan in Italy. Mett Singapore will be its first Asian outpost.
Mr Antonio Gonzalez, chairman and group chief executive of SHG, says: “Each destination was chosen for its cultural vibrancy and emotional resonance with our brand. They are places where we see an opportunity to create something meaningful.
“Fort Canning’s rich history and natural beauty provide the perfect backdrop for Mett’s warm, vibrant and soulful spirit.”
The group took over the Fort Canning property on Dec 1, 2024, and has since refurbished the interiors while preserving the building’s historic facade.
