Letter of the day Build stronger support systems in schools to tackle bullying

I refer to the article "MOE started review of bullying earlier in 2025" (Aug 26). It is timely that the Ministry of Education is including parents, educators, professionals and the community in the next phase of its review of its approach in handling bullying.
Beyond guiding bullies to reflect on their actions — which is a reactive step — we should also focus on prevention and work with stakeholders to build a culture of inclusiveness and respect through example.
An open platform for regular dialogue on harassment, coupled with an escalation mechanism, can reinforce such a culture and ensure a safe study environment.
