He turns his love of riding motorbikes into a roaring business

He started his bike detailing company at age 19 while studying for a diploma

Mr Aniq Nazirul said his best financial decision was investing in Bike Frenzie. He has learnt that investing in the right resources and infrastructure pays off more than chasing short-term gains because it builds long-term value and credibility.

Mr Aniq Nazirul was just 19 when he set up his first business while still studying for a diploma in arts management.

Now at 26, he is the owner of motorcycle wash and detailing company Bike Frenzie, spurred by his love of riding bikes. Bike detailing is the process of thoroughly washing, polishing and coating a bike, among other procedures.

“I first started detailing cars in 2016 before moving into the motorcycle scene in 2019,” he says.

“I’ve always been passionate about motorcycles as I had owned one myself and I understand the struggles riders face when it comes to proper care. Many either try to do it themselves without the right tools, or rely on places that don’t specialise in motorcycles. While there are plenty of car detailers in Singapore, very few truly focus on bikes.”

Mr Aniq started Bike Frenzie in 2019, when he was still studying for a Diploma in Arts Management at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

He was unsure if he could make a living with the motorbike business, so he continued studying to keep his options open.

“At the time, I was still in school, so running my own business while juggling studies was both challenging and rewarding. It was stressful at times,” he says. Still, he adds it was a “wholesome experience”, using the Gen Z lingo for how it was good for his personal growth.

He also faced doubts from some friends and family members, who thought it was a “dirty job” or “too physical”.
