NEWMARKET - Precise leapt to the top of the Group 1 1000 Guineas (1,600m) market with a breathtaking last-to-first triumph in the £528,750 (S$915,000) Group 1 Fillies' Mile (1,600m) at Newmarket on Oct 10.

Fresh off the back of securing top-level honours on Diamond Necklace in the Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac (1,600m) at ParisLongchamp on Oct 5, Christophe Soumillon was back in action on the Aidan O'Brien-trained Precise.
The Starspangledbanner two-year-old filly looked to extend her winning streak to four, following two Group victories in both the Group 3 Prestige Stakes (1,400m) at Goodwood on Aug 24 and the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes (1,400m) at Curragh on Sept 14.
Stepping up to the mile for the first time, Soumillon positioned the chestnut galloper at the back of the field, with Venetian Lace (Jason Hart) at the head of affairs cutting out the early gallop.
Just as she did before at Newmarket, Venetian Lace veered to the near side under pressure. Although the Charlie Johnston-trained filly continued to battle on well up the hill, all eyes were drawn to Precise and Soumillon, who had yet moved a muscle on his mount.
