Sept 12 South Africa (Fairview) form analysis

RACE 1 (1,300M) (4) MAGNUS THE GOOD did not show his best last time. A change of trainer and the addition of blinkers should bring him back to his best form.

(1) PALANCAR looked an unlucky loser last time and can go one better this time.

(6) STAND UP is in good form and can be competitive.

(8) NIGHT IN JAPAN is better than she has been showing of late.

RACE 2 (1,300M) (5) AMANATTO has improved with blinkers. A wide draw will not make it easy for her but she may just make all the running.

(3) LADY BOMBER is in good form and should go close to winning.

(1) WHITE WATERS makes her local debut after a change of trainers and can be a threat but she did struggle in her only run on the Polytrack. Stable companions (6) BIRD ON A WING and (10) IVY all tend to lack strong finishes but are capable of earning some money.

RACE 3 (1,600M) A very weak race.

(2) OH MANDY has been threatening to win a race for some time now. This course and distance suits her best and she may well break the ice.

RACE 4 (6) TEXAN DREAM looks like a jump-and-run sort and when you consider that Luke Fernie won this race in 2024 with Capitola off the same preparation (Belmont Park 400m jump-out two weeks before Opening Day), then he becomes increasingly attractive.
