Ram Navami Celebrated With Enthusiasm Across North Bengal

Ram Navami was observed with immense enthusiasm, excitement, and spontaneous participation from thousands of people across Siliguri and the entire North Bengal region. The celebration took on the form of a grand festival, marked by peaceful processions and a vibrant atmosphere.

Political participation was notably visible during the celebrations. Leaders from both the BJP and TMC were seen at various events across different districts. In a significant development, a few TMC activists directly joined Ram Navami processions organised by Hindu groups led by the RSS and its affiliate, the VHP. Meanwhile, a separate group of TMC leaders organised parallel rallies, reportedly with an eye on public outreach, according to political observers.

One of the most heartening moments unfolded in English Bazaar, Malda—a region recently marked as sensitive following a series of communal clashes. A group of Muslims participated in the celebrations by distributing flowers, sweets, and water bottles to the devotees. North Malda MP Khagen Murmu was seen warmly embracing a Muslim community leader and accepting sweets from him, a gesture that drew wide appreciation.
