Forty-eight Indian fishermen detained in Bangladesh for the past four months on charges of illegal fishing are set to be released in exchange for 78 Bangladeshi fishermen freed by India.
This exchange follows diplomatic efforts by the Indian government to secure the fishermen's release. The 78 Bangladeshi fishermen, who had been apprehended for illegal fishing in Indian waters, expressed gratitude towards the Indian authorities, including the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and Odisha Police, for their safe return.
