“Children here could hardly read or write. The nearest school was too far, and their parents could not send them,” said Mausami Bauri, Goaldanga village, of Bankura. She is one of the 283 women who have just completed a Youth Leadership Training Programme, each coming from a different village. This programme, by The Art of Living, designed and envisioned by the global spiritual master and humanitarian leader, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, empowers India’s youth in leading development initiatives in their communities.
