CBDT launches 2nd NUDGE on foreign assets

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) is launching the second NUDGE campaign, underwhichSMSs and emails will be issued from Friday to identified taxpayers asking themtovoluntarily review and revise their returns on or before 31 December 2025 to avoid penal consequences.
According to the Ministry of Finance, analysis by the CBDT ofthe Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) for FY 2024-25 (CY 2024) has identified high-risk cases in which foreign assets appear to exist but have notbeen reported inITRs filed for AY 2025-26.
