India Records 85.8 Pc Fiscal Deficit in FY25, Current Account Deficit at 1.1 Pc of GDP

India's fiscal deficit up to the month of February, 2025 (FY2024-25) was 13.47 trillion rupees ($157.62 billion), or 85.8 per cent of the estimate for the financial year ending 31 March, government data showed on Friday.
Government of India has received 25,46,317 crore in the said period which comprises 80.9 per cent of corresponding RE 2024-25 of Total Receipts up to February, 2025 comprising 20,15,634 crore Tax Revenue (Net to Centre), 4,93,319 crore of Non-Tax Revenue and 37,364 crore of Non-Debt Capital Receipts.
Further, 11,80,532 crore has been transferred to State Governments as Devolution of Share of Taxes by Government of India up to this period, which is 1,47,099 crore higher than the previous year.
