ECI imposes restrictions on print media political ads ahead of Bihar polls

The Election Commission of India has mandated that no political party, candidate, organisation, or individual shall publish any advertisement in print media on the poll day, and the day preceding it unless the content is pre-certified by the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) at the state or district level.
The directive comes in the wake of the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls. For the polls, these restricted days have been designated as 5 and 6 November for Phase-I, and 10 and 11 November for Phase-II of polling. The poll panel has fixed polling dates for the general election on 6 November and 11 November.
