Arunava Maity and Soma Das Maity's marriage was matchmade by a classic case of roommates turning into brother-in-laws.

Arunava Maity and Soma Das Maity got married rather early in their life, by today's standards.

Arunava was 25 and Soma was 24 when they tied their knot in 2013 on 12 August.

That justifies the headline of their story as they literally graduated with time as their marriage grew older and the years passed by.

But why did they get married so early?

Was it a love marriage?

The answer is no. They hardly knew each other before they became life partners.

It is here that lies a cute little story of love and friendship.

Arunava was the room mate of Soma's cousin brother at his engineering college hostel and was widely known as the quintessential good boy who was a studious, non-interfering, helpful introvert with a squeaky clean image undisturbed by romantic link ups, unlike his peers. This non-Casanova family man aura of Arunava impressed his batch mate to such an extent that he proposed Arunava's marriage with his maternal cousin sister Soma to his family. Soma, too, was a girl who never looked beyond her world of books and extracurricular pursuits, making her a perfect match for Arunava. After much emotional convincing by her brother and contemplation by her family, the proposal was agreed upon by both sides of the bride and the groom, and the result is 12 years of happy married life of the two today.
