Kolkata rape case: Security guard arrested

The security guard of the South Kolkata Law College has been arrested in connection with the alleged gang rape of a student, marking the fourth arrest in the case following the detention of three accused individuals, including the prime accused, Manojit Mishra.
Kolkata Police, meanwhile, set up a five-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Assistant Commissioner (South Suburban Division) Pradip Kumar Ghosal to oversee the investigation into the case.
According to police sources, the security guard—identified as Pinaki Banerjee—was on duty at the time of the incident. The victim alleged in her complaint that Banerjee failed to respond to her distress calls.
