PM Modi to visit Kolkata today for commanders' meet

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Kolkata from Sunday, to inaugurate a three-day long Combined Commanders' Conference (CCC) of the armed forces at Fort William in the city on Monday.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, chief of defence staff General Anil Chauhan and defence secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, and several other dignitaries will also be there at the conference, which will be held from 15 September.
The CCC is the apex-level forum of the Armed Forces, bringing together the nation's top civil and military leadership to exchange views and chart the course for India's defence preparedness.
Sources in the Defence Ministry (MoD) said the event will focus on reforms, transformation and change, and operational preparedness, reflecting the Armed Forces' emphasis on institutional reforms, deeper integration, and technological modernisation while sustaining multi-domain operational readiness.
Deliberations will focus on strengthening the Armed Forces to remain agile, decisive, and future-ready in a rapidly evolving geo-strategic environment.
The theme of this year's conference is "Year of Reforms - Transforming for the Future".
