Odisha took a significant leap towards becoming Eastern India's textile hub at the region's biggest textile and apparel industry summit here on Friday with 33 MoUs being signed, unlocking investments worth Rs 7808 crore.
The event, billed as the region's largest textile and apparel industry summit, showcased the state's ambition to emerge as a national leader in textile manufacturing, innovation, and employment generation.
Over 650 delegates, including representatives from global brands, top textile and apparel companies, investors, startups, and government officials, participated in the event.
The investment proposals have the potential to provide 53,300 new jobs.
More than 160 companies, including major industry players such as Page Industries, KPR Mills, First Step Baby Wear, Sportking, Adarsh Knitwear, and Bon & Co participated.
