AS THE final phase of the line-up for the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF) has been announced, excitement has reached fever pitch for lovers of the iconic music extravaganza.
This year’s line-up is a mixture of artists that will cater to the musical tastes of all festival goers, from amapiano to jazz, soul, house, and some R&B.
In the CTIFJ’s rich line-up is world-renowned record producer and Dj Black Coffee, who teams up with fellow international traveller Pieter-maritzburg-born jazz pianist Nduduzo Makhathini.
The two released a collab genre-defying EP titled “Muye’, and the Cape Town International Jazz Festival will mark the first time they be performing music from this project accompanied by an orchestra, horns and vocalists who will be belting out some of the tunes from the duo.
The legendary former Bongo Maffin member, Thandiswa Mazwai, returns to the CTIJF stage. Known for her powerful voice and groundbreaking fusion of jazz, soul, and traditional African rhythms, Thandiswa has captured hearts worldwide.
Her music continues to transcend borders, and were excited to welcome her back to the festival.
