Police captain accused of raping trainee seeks bail

A CAPTAIN in the South African Police Service (SAPS) is expected back in court on Wednesday.

The police captain faces a charge of rape.

He was arrested by members of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) last Wednesday.

According to the Ipid spokesperson, Lizzy Suping, the police captain is alleged to have raped a trainee at the Police Academy in Pretoria.
