MAMELODI Sundowns sent a resounding message across the continent on Sunday with a commanding 5-1 victory over Nigeria’s Remo Stars in the first leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round.

However, head coach Miguel Cardoso remains vigilant, insisting that the job is far from finished as the team prepares for the second leg later this week in Pretoria.

The emphatic victory not only showcased Sundowns'’ attacking prowess but also reinforced their ambitions in Africa's premier club competition. After finishing as runners-up last season, the South African giants are determined to reclaim the trophy they last hoisted in 2016.

Despite the emphatic result, Cardoso has chosen humility over hubris.
