Broos looks for next level as greenhorn Bafana keep building

BAFANA Bafana coach Hugo Broos expects his charges to be themselves and give their best when they face Mozambique on Tuesday, following an encouraging outing last Friday.

Bafana hosted Tanzania in a goalless draw at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. While the result extended the team's unbeaten streak, it was the performance that pleased Broos most, given the squad's experimental nature.

The Belgian used the friendly as a launchpad for international careers, handing debuts to several new and young players, following the omission of most senior squad members. The fresh faces put in a brave performance that nearly resulted in a notable win against a relatively strong Tanzanian side.

With Bafana set to complete their international window with a clash against the Mambas at the same venue on Tuesday (kick-off 7.30pm), Broos has made clear what he hopes to see from his team.

"These will be two different games, and tonight (Friday) I was just curious to see how these players would react on the pitch - and the reaction was good," said Broos.
