Mum holding fun day 10 years after teenager died
A MOTHER is holding a celebration of her son's life - 10 years after he suddenly died while on holiday.
Jordan Burndred was just 17 when he suffered a fatal heart in Turkey on October 7, 2015. The 'fit and healthy' teenager, who was a big sports fan, had no history of cardiac issues.
Since Jordan's death his mum Nicola, of Biddulph, has worked with the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) helping to screen hundreds of youngsters for undiagnosed heart conditions. Now she is organising an action-packed fun day in his memory at Knypersley Cricket Club on Saturday.
She said: “We were on holiday in Turkey, having some lovely time away together as a family. But then Jordan suddenly suffered a fatal heart attack while he was in the swimming pool.
“At first, when we arrived at the hospital, they found a very weak pulse. So there was hope. The doctors sedated him so he could stabilise and recover. But things took a turn for the worse.
