Valiants showcased superb mentality, says boss Moore

DARREN Moore was pleased his Port Vale side showed their character in a dour 0-0 draw at home to Northampton Town.
In a swirling wind it was difficult for either team to play much football and the positives for more were the clean sheet and the show of resilience from his men.
As he prepares his squad for another EFL Trophy tie, away to Accrington Stanley, tonight, the Valiants manager reflected on what might have been on Saturday.
"It was really difficult conditions and it was there for all to see," he told BBC Radio Stoke.
"Positives from the game were we were strong, we were resolute, determined and focussed in challenging and contesting the ball.
"We were playing against a difficult team who are a percentage team. You can see why they are a resolute team because they don't give much away.
"They ask questions of the opposition where they consistently put the ball.
"I thought we did well in competing our duels.
"Then right at the end you are looking for one moment, one opportunity and it came to Ruari and you would have wanted it to fall to that person but when I look back on it the keeper's made an unbelievable gamble and it's paid off for him.
