DARREN Moore wore a wide smile after delivering Port Vale a promotion from League Two at the first attempt.

VALIANTS ON THE UP!

The Valiants boss masterminded a 2-0 triumph at AFC Wimbledon to spark celebrations as the Champagne flowed.

After relegation last season, Vale have bounced back to League One and now have the chance to do so in style, as they bid to win the League Two title on Saturday.

"I'm really excited, delighted, and just really pleased for us all," said Moore.

"To secure promotion today in the manner that we did, was outstanding. I was so proud of the players.

"To put in a performance like that here. It's been a difficult place for teams to come. And of course with the travelling fans, it was fantastic to perform in the manner we did and score two goals in front of them.

"So it was a fantastic day for the supporters. And all the supporters who had congregated back at Vale Park.

"Up in the Valiants lounge and Robbie's as well, it's fantastic."
