Captain Wilmot insists entire team deserves to take credit for Potters' excellent defensive record

- Chris Travers

STOKE'S UNITED STRENGTH

ty's Ben Wilmot celebrates the Potters' winning goal against Wrexham on Saturday.

BEN Wilmot says Stoke City's players have to share the plaudits after recording another clean sheet.

The Potters have the best defensive record in the Championship, conceding just six goals in 10 matches, following Saturday's 1-0 home victory over Wrexham.

It was the fourth time this season they have shut out their opponents in the league, but centre-half Wilmot insists it's not just the back four who have played their part in making Stoke tough to break down.

The win, which ended a run of three successive draws, leaves Mark Robins' side in third place in the table ahead of tonight's trip to Millwall, which is followed by a weekend visit to Portsmouth.

"We defend as a team," skipper Wilmot told the club. "Million (Manhoef) and Sorba (Thomas) work really hard out of possession to come back and double up to help our fullbacks, which helps us massively.
