Scott hangs up his gloves just two months after leaving Stoke

SCOTT Morris has confirmed his retirement from professional football just two months after leaving Stoke City to return to play in New Zealand.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper moved to Stoke in January 2024 following an invitation from Alex Neil's old keeper coach Jonathan Gould, right, who had coached in New Zealand. He signed an 18-month contract but was frustrated by a hip problem and only made fleeting appearances for the under-21s. He moved back home in July to be reunited with Gould at Auckland FC, who won the A-League championship last season having only been founded in 2024, although they then lost in the finals series to Melbourne City.
