A NEW countryside park In North Staffordshire is set to be up and running by late spring in 2026.

Plans to kickstart Lyme Park - on part of the old Keele golf course - are being considered by Newcastle Borough Council.

They include the refurbishment of an existing car park, new signage and gates to access points and footpath clearance works.

New seating, bins and safety provisions by open water also feature in the first phase of a three-stage delivery plan alongside the launch of a masterplan exercise from January 2026, including an ecological study and tree survey, to inform the park’s further expansion.

It is all being financed by developer funding secured through the planning process.
