Pet jumped over 8ft fence before biting both youngsters

- Sentinel Reporter

A MURDERER was the owner of a dog that attacked two ‘hysterical’ girls in their own garden after it vaulted an 8ft fence.

Ezaan Hussain was jailed for 20 years and 353 days last month after he admitted murdering Thapelo Jali, of Stafford, in a Normacot alleyway in July last year.

Now the 22-year-old has appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court via a video link from HMP Leicester where he admitted two charges of being the owner of a dog which caused injury while dangerously out of control on February 16, 2024.

The court heard the Dutch shepherd, called Zeus, vaulted an 8ft fence and pounced on the girls who were in the next door garden. They both needed hospital treatment. Now he has been banned from owning dogs for life.

Prosecutor Siobhan Collins said Hussain lived with his family at two adjoining properties in Chaplin Road, Normacot. Another family bought a neighbouring house and the owner had concerns about Zeus’s behaviour.
