Ex-skipper hails Robins impact in Stoke resurgence
CLIVE Clarke credits Mark Robins with embedding the kind of structure in Stoke City's play that means they can make their own luck this season.
The former Stoke captain has been watching as a fan, pundit and agent this year, and can see marked improvements beyond just the league position.
"It is a hell of a lot better," he said ahead of Stoke's meeting with Bristol City - fifth against fourth - at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday (3pm).
"The manager deserves a lot of credit. There's a good shape to the team and the work rate is a lot higher.
"The pressure that they're putting the opposition under is incomparable to the last five years when Stoke have been too easy to play against.
"They actually probably haven't performed as well in the last two weeks but they've still been able to pick up two good wins.
