MOTORISTS in Staffordshire are being urged to check their vehicles are winter-ready as an Arctic blast sweeps across the county.

Temperatures have plummeted and forecasters reckon that will continue over the next few days.
Now Staffordshire County Council has confirmed its fleet of 37 gritters will be doing their rounds in a bid to keep the roads moving.
