'Lives were put at risk' by thief

POLICE say Thomas Atkinson put lives at risk as he led cops an hour long chase through North Staffordshire and South Cheshire.

Footage shows some of the chase through Stoke-on-Trent and Newcaslte before it finally came to and when his car was surrounded on Leycett Lane near Silverdale.
The Sentinel reported last week how Atkinson, above, of Pear Tree Lane, Chesterton, was jailed for 18 months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court
