Boy, 14, without school place for a year

'It feels like Louis has been completely forgotten about'

EXCLUSION: The King's CE School.

A 14-YEAR-OLD boy has been left without a school place for a year.

Louis Leverton was permanently excluded in November 2024 after becoming involved in a fight with another pupil at The King's Church of England Academy, in Kidsgrove. Dad Paul Leverton failed to overturn the permanent exclusion. Now the 39-year-old is urging Staffordshire County Council to 'do better' regarding his son's education.

Mr Leverton, of Kidsgrove, said: "We went to an independent review panel where we appealed the permanent exclusion.

"During the investigation, it transpired that there was actually video footage of the fight. We had been told it was a one-sided incident, but the footage showed that wasn't the case.

"I received a call inviting me to the school to attend a meeting. They reviewed mistakes they'd made in their handling of this and how they'd correct it.
