Burglar's plea to homeowner after getting lodged in kitchen window
BUNGLING burglar Tony Barnett was caught - after getting stuck climbing through a window.
The hapless criminal was caught red-handed by the homeowners who were woken in the middle of the night by him shouting, 'Help me. I am stuck'.
They called the police and the defendant was still stuck when officers arrived at the address on Century Street in Hanley. Now the 55-year-old has been jailed for 18 months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
The homeowners had locked their front and back doors before going to bed at 10pm on July 20. The dining room and kitchen windows were unlocked.
