Watchdog wants 'higher aspirations'
A SPECIAL school has been ordered to improve by Ofsted inspectors - but its director has highlighted the difference it has made to pupils who have previously experienced anxiety or long-term absence.
Intuition School, in Longton, provides independent education for 11 to 16-year-olds.
In 2022 it was rated good by Ofsted, but following its latest inspection it was found to require improvement in quality of education and leadership and management. Personal development of pupils and behaviour and attitudes were found to be good, however.
School director Emma Shutt said pupils had described Intuition as 'full of joy' and 'the best school I have ever been to'. And one parent said their child 'receives the utmost support,' while another said 'there has been a massive improvement overall from education to our son's wellbeing since his arrival.
