Acts hit the right notes for Fenton's first ever folk day

The event, organised by the Potteries Folk Club, took part as part of the centenary celebrations in Stoke-on-Trent, and Fenton Town Hall was 'buzzing' throughout the day.

The square outside the town hall was the stage for the many morris dancers who entertained the crowds, with activities and storytelling for children in Fenton Christ Church.

Free activities included a songwriting workshop by Dave Joynson in the Manor Inn and a sing-around throughout the day and evening.

Christ Church hosted poetry events from Natalie Linh-Bolderston and Stoke-on-Trent's Poet Laureate, Nick Degg, above, as well as a harmony singing workshop led by The Lost Notes, and a performance by the Leek Peace Choir.
