Vedanta Aluminium marks Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025 with week-long awareness campaign

ON the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day, Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, reaffirmed its commitment to women’s health by launching a week-long awareness and outreach program across its operations in Odisha.

Observed globally on May 28, Menstrual Hygiene Day aims to break the stigma surrounding menstruation and promote equitable access to safe and affordable menstrual care. Vedanta Aluminium’s initiative this year focused on empowering adolescent girls and women with accurate information, essential resources, and the confidence to manage their menstrual and reproductive health with dignity.

The campaign reached over 350 women and adolescent girls through a series of impactful activities. In Lanjigarh, home to Vedanta's alumina refinery, the company launched the Red Dot Campaign, encouraging open dialogue and challenging societal taboos around menstruation. To further normalize these conversations, Dr. Nareen Ali conducted informative sessions on menstrual health and hygiene, offering both scientific insights and practical guidance.
